27 Federally Funded Scientific institutes- The National Cancer
Institute, the Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, the Human Genome
Research Institute, and the National Institute of Mental Health.
This is a website for both general information, and more specific
knowledge.

- The American Diabetes Association is an organization for persons
with diabetes, and for professionals. It is a source of both education
about and assistance with diabetes, or living with a diabetic.

- A great source of information about heart disease prevention,
and treatment. It also has sound advice regarding nutrition and
healthy lifestyle. There is also a link to the American Stroke
Association.

- The Virtual Hospital is a great source of general information
about "virtually" all health topics. Very solid basic
information, with an emphasis on self-care and prevention. (University
of Iowa Healthcare)

- A project of the non-profit Alternative Medicine foundation

this is a very Scientific description of legitimate research
of most commonly-used herbal products (it does not include
dietary supplements such as glucosamine or fish oil - plants only.

- This is an exhaustive alphabetical list of virtually all known
disease names, with links to other sites specific to that disease.
It is sponsored by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, and
quite unbiased. Much of the information is targeted to professionals.
