Dennis N. Jacokes, M.D., graduated with honors from the University
of North Carolina with a B.A. degree in psychology in 1987. He
earned his medical degree from the UNC School of Medicine. Dr.
Jacokes served his internship and residency with the department
of family medicine at the University of California, Irvine. He
enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife,
two daughters, two dogs and three cats. His hobbies include sports,
jogging, reading, photography, and Carolina basketball.

Richard K. Torrey, M.D., graduated with honors from the University
of Southwest Louisiana and received his medical degree from the
Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1980. Dr. Torrey
served his residency in family medicine at the Earl K. Long Memorial
Hospital. He currently serves as a clinical instructor for the
department of family medicine at East Carolina School of Medicine
and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Torrey
was also a solo practitioner in the town of Middlesex, NC for
nine years, before moving to the big city. He is married, and
enjoys bicycling, the culinary arts, and travel.

Rebecca Betts, Physician Assistant earned a Bachelor of Science
in the Physician Assistant program from the Medical College of
Georgia where she graduated with honors in 1985. Ms. Betts served
as Clinic Director of Adult Health Services and Physician Assistant
in the Prenatal Clinic of the Wake County Department of Health
for six years. She enjoys camping, hiking, cooking, and spending
time with her husband and two sons.

Amy Hird, Physician Assistant earned a Masters of Medical Science
degree from the Emory University School of Medicine Physician
Assistant Program in 1999 where she was recognized for academic
and clinical excellence by the Emory Progress and Promotions Committee.
She has completed clinical rotations at Grady Memorial Hospital
in Atlanta, Georgia and Yale University School of Medicine. She
completed her undergraduate studies at William and Mary University
in 1998. She is a New Englander who enjoys running and fitness,
cooking, Duke basketball and spends lots of time outdoors hiking
with her husband, son, and crazy dog.

Jeanne Eyman graduated from Emory University School of Medicine
Physician Assistant program in 1999. The Progress and Promotion
Committee recognized her for academic and clinical excellence.
Prior to graduate school she attended Oxford College and Emory
University. She is a Georgia Native who moved to NC in 2001 to
work at Imperial Center Family Medicine. Her hobbies include spending
time with her husband, son, and dog. Additionally she enjoys gardening,
cooking, hiking, and reading.

Before graduating from Duke University Physician Assistant Program
in 2002, Krista worked as a Rehab Tech with an autistic child and as
a Nurse Aide and Emergency Room Technician at Rex Hospital. She received
her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from Appalachian State University in
1996. She is a native North Carolinian who enjoys teaching in the children’s
department of her church, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
Adam Schwartz, MHS, P.A.-C
Adam completed his undergraduate degree from the University of
Massachusetts in 1993 and graduate training from Emory University
Physician Assistant Program in 1998. Following graduation he worked
in a Family medicine practice in Georgia for several years before moving
to NC in 2001 to work at the Duke Diet and Fitness Center. He then became
a faculty member at Duke Family Medicine Center where he continued to work
as a Physician Assistant and help train medical and physician assistant
students. In 2007 he joined Imperial Center Family Medicine where his
wife, Jeanne Eyman, also works as a PA. When he is not working, he enjoys
running and spending time with his wife, three children and dog.

Angela graduated with a Masters in Health Science from Duke University PA
program in 2001. She completed her under graduate degree from NC State University
in 1995. After graduating from NCSU, she worked for 3 years as a clinical
embryologist where she assisted couples experiencing infertility. She is a
NC native who enjoys the outdoors, water sports, gardening and spending time
with her husband and 2 dogs.
